SUNAMGANJ (23Janu) : At least 35 people, including women, were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Jagannathpur of the district on Wednesday.
Sources said the clash erupted around 12:00 noon when two village people were going to catch fish to nearby haor (water body).
The villagers locked into an altercation centering fishing and, at one stage of altercation, they locked into clash with lethal weapons that left 35 people, including woman, injured.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police of the district said, “I asked the officer-in-charge of Jagannathpur to send police on the spot.”
Later, police brought the situation under control, he added.
