The family of another businessman has brought allegation against the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for their involevement in his abduction.
The abducted person was identified as Rahmatullah alias Sentu, vice chairman of ‘Turag Paribahan’, a bus service plies on Sayedabad-Tongi route.

The allegation came from a press conference held at the National Press Club in the capital on Thursday.

In the press conference, Sentu’s wife Lovely Akhter said  a group of people with the help of RAB men abducted her husband from old part of Dhaka on April 9.

She said a group of poeple numbering 8/10 in plainclothes tried to drag his husband when they just came out of the chamber of a lawyer’s assistant at about 11am on that day.
“At one stage, they took my husband into a off-white microbus. When my husband cried for help local poeple rushed in to  save him. I also sought local policemen’s help. After talking to the people, police told me that they were the members of Rab-10,” Lovely said.

“After sometime, 3/4 RAB men in uniform came to the scene and dispersed the local people charging batons. Then another microbus came to the scene and left the place taking my husband,” she added.

Lovely said she went to the Rab-10 office to seek information about her husband. But, they denied  RAB members’ involevment in picking up Sentu.

She, later, filed an abduction case with Kotwali thana on April 16.

Lovely suspect business rivals might have abducted Sentu with the help of RAB members – See more at:
