One held for twin murder in Chittagong

The bodies were recovered from a septic tank of an under-construction building on Monday.

Md Jahangir, 28, was arrested from the port city’s Panchlaish area on Tuesday afternoon, said Md Quamruzzaman, assistant commissioner (north) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).

Police say Jahangir, a ‘professional mugger’, is an accused in the case filed over the murders.

Jahangir revealed some information about the killings during preliminary interrogation, the police official said.

Those killed were Kamrul Islam, 18, a Higher Secondary Certificate examination candidate from the Omar Gani MES College and Forkan Uddin, 19, a readymade garment worker.

Kamrul’s father filed a case with Khulshi Police Station on Tuesday naming nine people and some anonymous people.
