Police arrested a man along with six-piece body of his wife in Gazipur Sadar upazila early today.
The father of two daughters, Reazul Karim Ranju, a garment worker, was caught red handed along with the sliced-body of his wife China, 27, at their rented house in Chandana Chourasta area, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting Akram Hossain, a sub-inspector of Joydebpur Police Station.
According to Ranju’s information gleaned by police during preliminary investigation, Ranju allegedly strangulated China to death following a family quarrel at their rented house at Barabari in Sadar upazila Sunday night.
Later, Ranju cut the body into six pieces in a bid to conceal the killing.
He kept three parts of China’s body in a luggage, two legs in a sack and head in a shopping bag, the OC said quoting Ranju.
Few hours into the murder, Ranju rented another house on Raushan Sarak in Chandana Chourasta area and shifted there along with the luggage, sack and bag.
Neighbours informed police after getting stinky odor from the luggage during shifting.
On information, police raided the new house of Ranju and recovered the body around 5:00am.
