A delegation of BNP Parliamentary Party will meet President Abdul Hamid to seek his initiatives in resolving the issue of party Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s “confinement” to her Gulshan residence in the capital.
The team which has already met Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will pay the visit to the president.
The eight-member delegation has sought appointment to meet the president, opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque told reporters after a meeting with the Speaker.
Time and date of the meeting however could not be known immediately.
During the meeting with the Speaker, the delegation submitted a memorandum and sought her intervention in settling the issue.
The BNP leader claimed that Khaleda remained cordoned off to her house since Thursday evening after declaring the ‘March for Democracy’ programme.
