Prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy on Wednesday said that the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and a section of civil society had been misleading the countrymen by giving false information on legal affairs.
‘They [BNP and civil society] are spreading false propaganda and misleading the people just to grab state power. When they talk about legal affairs, they say that it is illegal or unconstitutional. But they do not know what exactly it is,’ he said.
Joy was exchanging views with the pro-Awami League lawyers at prime minister’s official residence Ganabhaban.
Ruling party lawmaker Fazle Nur Taposh moderated the programme.
Joy called upon the lawyers to work with unity in the field so that nobody could spread false propaganda and grab state power unconstitutionally or by rigging votes in future.
‘It is the perfect time for you [lawyers] to work against the falsehood of opposition BNP. This is our last fight of the independence movement. We must win this battle,’ he said.
