The resignation letters were submitted during Monday’s regular Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told bdnews24.com.
However, several others including Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Minister without Portfolio Suranjit Sengupta, and State Minister for Liberation War Affairs AB Tajul Islam had submitted resignation letters to the Prime Minister before Monday.
Hasina had proposed an all-inclusive interim government to supervise the polls.
But Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia denounced the idea and proposed an interim government comprising of former caretaker government advisors.
The BNP has remained indifferent to the repeated calls by the ruling Awami League to join the all-party government.
It is now enforcing the third long strike, this time for 84 hours, in as many weeks to back its demand for a neutral caretaker administration.
But the Awami League appears to be pushing ahead with its plans.
Communications Minister Obaidul Quader had said the all-party interim government would be formed by the end of November.
The 10th national election is expected to take place within the Constitutional deadline of Jan 24, 2014.
