A terrible fire broke out in a warehouse of clothing and then engulfed surrounding houses in Kamrangir Char area in the old part of Dhaka Saturday afternoon, fire service officials.
The fire was originated at about 1:00pm, according to Abdul Khaleque, the fire service duty official said.
The inferno soon engulfed nearby slum and gutted 10 to 15 houses, witnesses said. The flames could not be controlled till filing this report at around 3:30 pm.
Abdul Khaleque said they were yet to ascertain the reason behind the blaze. No casualty was reported so far.
Five fire service units from nearby stations are trying hard to douse the flames, witnesses and fire service officials said.
