SAVAR (DHAKA): An alleged criminal was killed in a “shootout” between his cohorts and Rapid Action Battalion men at Choto Balimohar adjacent to Savar Bus Stand on Friday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Munna, alias Madak Samrat Munna.
RAB-4 Lt. commander Tanvir told “Acting on tip off, a team of Rab-4 conducted drive at a drug spot in Choto Balimohar area adjacent to Savar Bus Stand at midnight.
The gang opened fire on the RAB men, prompting them to retaliate.
Munna came in the line of fire and received two bullets on his head, leaving him dead on the spot while the others managed to flee, added the RAB officer.
Rab officials said they recovered a foreign made revolver and two rounds of bullet, 300 bottles of Phensidyl and Heroine from the spot.
Later, the elite force handed over the body to Savar Model police station.
Savar Model police station OC Asaduzzaman told , “ Munna was accused in more than 30 cases including murder, robbery, forced disappearance, kidnapping, mugging, raping.”
