DHAKA: Main opposition BNP will hold protest demonstrations countrywide on Sunday for demanding unconditional release of its leaders-activists and restoration of Caretaker Government System.
The decision had come from the meeting of BNP standing committee that was held at its chairperson’s Gulshan office on Thursday night.
The party also will stage the agitation in protest against torture and killing by the government, attack on BNP rally, fake cases against party leaders and activists and arrest of them.
The meeting also decided to enforce hartal if the government hinders their protest programme.
Besides, the BNP leaders discussed about the remark of Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam.
The meeting rejected the proposal of Ashraf to hold talks between the government and main opposition party to resolve ongoing crisis in the country.
With BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the chair, the meeting also was attended by among others, its standing committee members Dr. RA Gani, Barrister Jamir Uddin Sircer, Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Lt. General (retd.) Mahbubur Rahman.
