DHAKA: Opposition BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday categorically said the countrymen do not want to see Awami League anymore in power.
The spokesperson for the former ruling party came up with the observation while addressing a protest rally in front of party’s central office in city’s Nayapaltan on Saturday afternoon.
Along with the leaders and activists, Fakhrul chanted the slogan—‘Jonogoner ektai dabi, Hasina tui kobe jabi’. Later, they brought out a procession.
The rally was presided over by Dhaka city BNP convener Sadek Hossain Khoka.
On Friday afternoon, party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia announced the programme alleging that police attacked on general people and conducted massacre after International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 awarded death penalty to Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee for war crimes.
