DHAKA: At least seven people were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Rajbari and Brahmanbaria districts on Friday.
The deceased are Md Nazrul, 22, Al Amin, 24, Saidul, 19, Md Shafiqul Molla, 22, Ershad Mia, 40, a auto rickshaw driver, Suva Mia, 52, and Foyez Mia, 45.
Our Rajbari correspondent reports: At least four motorcyclists were killed as a Dhaka-bound bus rammed their motorcycle in Khankhanapur small bridge area on Daulatdia-Khulna highway around 4am.
Confirming the matter, Ahlladipur highway outpost in-charge Md Masudur Rahman told banglanews, “Nazrul, Al Amin, and Saidul died on the spot while Shafiqul succumbed to his injuries at Faridpur Medical College Hospital.”
The bodies were sent to Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Brahmanbaria Correspondent reports: Three people were killed and three others injured as a bus of Diganta Paribahan knocked down a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Sultanpur bus stand area on Comilla-Sylhet highway around 11:30am, killing three people on the spot and injuring the others.
Sadar police station SI Abdur Rashid told confirmed the matter to.
The bodies were sent to District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Meanwhile, angry locals vandalized the bus and blocked the highway for half an hour, halting vehicular movement in the area.
On information, Sadar police station OC Md. Abdur Rob rushed in and brought the situation under control.
