DHAKA: Indian President Pranab Kumar Mukherjee is expected to pay a courtesy visit to opposition BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia during his Bangladesh visit on March.
Confirming the matter, BNP vice chairman Shamser Mobin Chowdhury told banglanews, “We are yet to fix the meeting date. But, Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran will hold a meeting with the party chief on February 17 to fix the date of meeting.”
India President Pranab Mukherjee is likely to visit Bangladesh in the first week of March.
Foreign Ministry source said primarily March 4 has been fixed for his visit.
Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid will visit Dhaka to attend the second Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting in the middle of February.
Earlier, President Mohammad Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had formally invited Pranab Mukherjee to visit the country.
