DHAKA (2janu) : The journalist community of the country is set to stage a grand-rally on February 11 demanding arrest and trial of the killers of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi.
They will also stage the grand rally in protesting repression on journalists and demanding security of the community.
The announcement of the fresh programme came from a press release issued by Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) on Saturday.
The news release said a view exchange meeting would be held at the National Press Club at 11:00am on February 4 and at the same time grand-rally would be held on February 11.
The leaders of different organizations of the journalists asked all concerned to be present in the programmes in time.
On February 11 in 2012, unidentified miscreants stabbed the journalist couple Sagor-Runi to death at their West Rajabazar residence in the city.
Sagar Sarowar was news editor of Maasranga Television, and his wife Meherun Runi was senior reporter of ATN Bangla.
