NAOGAON (28janu) : A mother along with her daughter was killed and two others injured in a tragic road accident near Poinari Bridge on Badalgachhi-Nazipur road under Mohadebpur upazila of the district on Monday noon.
The deceased were identified as Alefa, 25, wife of Abu and his mother-in-law Anwara, hailed from Chandpara village under Badalgachhi upazila.
The injured–Abu and his daughter Suborna–were rushed to Badalgachhi Upazila Health Complex.
Local sources told that Abu along with his wife, mother-in-law and daughter were going to Badalgachhi Bazar by riding a motorbike.
On the way, a passenger bus of Shadharon Paribahon rammed them as its driver lost control over steering, leaving two dead on the spot and two others injured.
The Inspector of Mohadebpur Thana Abdur Rashid told banglanews that agitated mob blockaded the road for an hour and torched the bus in protest against the accident.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control assuring the mob for compensation.
The driver and helper managed to flee the scene, police seized the killer bus.
The bodies were sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue, the inspector added.
