SYLHET (24janu) : Students of Sylhet Polytechnic Institute on Thursday morning halted the train communications in the district as they could not obtain pass marks in exam.
Station Manager of city rail station Muhibur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said a group of students barricaded the rail line and stop a Sylhet-bound train from Chhatak near the railway station in the city at about 10am.
The agitating students said that they stop the rail communications as they failed to obtain pass marks in the examinations.
They alleged that teachers of their institute intentionally gave them very poor marks.
Meanwhile, the demonstrators warned that they would continue their agitation until their demands are met.
While contacted, principal of the institution Sushanto Kumar Basu told banglanews, “The students were not given fail marks intentionally. They were given marks following the unitary rules and regulations.”
He also urged the students to hold a meeting to resolve the crisis.
