DHAKA (24Janu) : Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to interrogate again to Rafiqul Islam, first evaluation committee convener and former project director of Padma Bridge along with three others over corruption allegation.
The anti-graft body issued notice to the accused in this regard on Thursday.
According to the ACC team sources, Deputy Director of the Mirza Jahidul Alam sent the notice addressing four officials.
In the notice, ACC asked former Chief Executive Engineer of Roads and Highways division Tarun Tapan Dewan and Rafiqul Islam to appear before the ACC on February 3.
On the other hand, Padma Bridge evaluation committee member Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed and former additional director of Water Development Board Mokbul Hossain asked to appear before the ACC on January 31.
Rafiqul Islam name had dropped from the ACC list though his name was in a diary about taking bribe of a SNC Lavaline official and Canadian citizen Ramesh Saha.
On 17 December in the last year, ACC filed a corruption case against seven officials, including former bridge secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan on charge of corruption to recruit a consultant farm of Padma Bridge project.
Mosharraf and former bridge division supervisor (river) engineer Kazi Muhammad Ferdous are now in prison after remand in the case.
The others accused in the case are Roads and Highways division executive engineer Riaz Ahmed Jaber, Engineer and Planning Consulted Limited DMD Muhammad Mostafa, SNC Lavaline former director Muhammad Ismail, former vice president Ramesh Saha and Kevin Wales.
