COX’S BAZAR (24 Dec.) : Two more recognized culprits were arrested on Monday for their alleged involvement in the attack at the Buddhist temples at Ramu in Cox’s Bazar on September 29.
The arrestees were Jahir Uddin, 32, son of Nozir Hossain of Ramu and Enam, 25, son of Muhammad Hasan of Ukhia upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramu Police Station Gazi Muhammad Shakawat Hossain told banglanews that they arrested the duo at around 4:30 pm from Khijari High School at Ramu.
The arrestees are recognized culprits who were involved in vandalism and setting the Buddhist temples on fire on September 29 in Ramu in the district.
Police said a total of 314 people were arrested on charge of carrying out attack at the temples on September 29 and 30 at different parts of Cox,s Bazar district.
The culprits vandalized and set ancient temples on fire vanishing rare sculpture in the temples.
