NEW YORK: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that she will unveil the mystery behind cancellation of Padma Bridge loan treaty.
She said, “Although the World Bank has declared to get reengaged in the much-talked-about Padma Bridge project, the government will not stop its investigation to find out the culprits behind the cancellation of the WB fund.”
She came up with the determination while addressing a seminar of US Swechhcha Sebok League at Hotel Heyate’s Grand Ballroom in New York in the morning.
She informed that she told the same thing while talking to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and World Bank President Kim Yong Jim at a discussion in USA.
She mentioned that she told the WB president, “I also want the full inquiry into the matter. I want to know why the previous funding was cancelled. I’m adamant to know the real story behind the cancellation of the fund.”
The premier said, “I knew it from before that the treaty will be cancelled immediate after the transfer of an official of World Bank. The world bank will never return if they conducted investigation.”
